#526775552 1986 928 S Auto with 78K miles SOLD for $9,500
|
$5,000 minimum, Opened Dec-14 Closes Dec-17 |
Looking for a quickie sale (3 days). S4 look updates, says all leather and "rare black/black" Rare? Engine shot is of an S4. Hmmm... Was that part of the "S4 update?" Odd. Seller is not the owner and was unaware of this until pointed out to him by Mr. E. Something doesn't add up. What year did the intense washer bottle get relocated to under the cowl? My guess is there is a lot more to the story. The exterior could be a re-spray, since it shines while engine looks more weathered. Since this can't be the original motor, odometer is not applicable there. | - | - | - | $5,000 | $7,600 | $8,900 (reserve met) |

Back again. Previously, this car opened at $15K and was bid to
$16.6K. So, it makes perfect sense to start at $19K this time, doesn't
it?...NOT! Makes the $17.5 K starting price on the 88 below look cheap.
Here's what I said the first time: Assuming this car has been maintained and not messed with, I'm interested. Have a feeling this seller is fishing for big bucks, though. This car looks nice, with molding delete, lumbar seat, nice paint and interior combination, polished rims. A nice 82K 88 5 speed should bring about...$17.5K |

Oh, no, not this one again! Here's what I said the first time through two
weeks ago:
"Low miles but.... funky steering wheel cover, torn shift boot, fairly gross pin stripe decoration, obviously cheap re-spray with gross orange peel (look at fender over wheel) and poor masking, black side strip, gloss black rear bumper pads, overdone window tint, ride height looks wrong (too high in front). Ugh. On top of that he thinks a 928 is a 911/Carrera. Good luck." |

The pic of the front of his car store sure will help to sell this one. Nice description of a low mileage 84: "Diamond in the rough." Hmmm....it has "pop up lights" so it can't be all that bad. | $7,099 | $7,099 | $7,099 | $7,099 | $7,501 (CLOSED |

SOMEBODY PLEASE BUY THIS HEAP SO I DON'T HAVE TO LOOK AT IT ANY MORE!
3rd time through eBay in as many weeks. He's sweetened the pot with a 1 year warranty. Uhuh. Most likely worthless. Here's what I said the first time through two weeks ago: "Low miles but.... funky steering wheel cover, torn shift boot, fairly gross pin stripe decoration, obviously cheap re-spray with gross orange peel (look at fender over wheel) and poor masking, black side strip, gloss black rear bumper pads, overdone window tint, ride height looks wrong (too high in front). 417K miles! Not a record but definitely way up there. Love the
description - one almost irrelevant line, and what is a "porsche Crest
Factory Pick-up"?
When it comes to cars and trucks, Southerners are brief and to the point - "runs good." |

Today is recycling day. Here's what I said the first time (this is getting
too easy): Green on choco brown. Says paint is tired and seats have no tears, but trim is wrinkled and I would expect lots of other similar defects. Accident report in 98. Seller bought at auction last month. Seller is small-time eBay dealer with very little feedback. I must be missing something as this car is drawing more bids than nicer looking cars. |

#525023909 1988 928 S4 Manual with 74K miles |
$17,500 minimum,

This reminds me of the first time I went out on a job as a young kid to mow
someone's lawn, and my first customer asked me how much I wanted. Not
really sure what to ask, I blurted out what in retrospect was an exorbitant
amount. The customer looked a bit shocked, paused for a second, then said,
"Well, you've got to start somewhere." I finished the job, got
paid, but was never asked back.
So, starting at a $17.5K minimum seems a little aggressive, but this is a low-mile, full leather 5-speed that has been goosed a bit, although the 370 HP isn't fully explained. Nice big brakes and wheels, and lots of other work has been done. Says never raced. Umm. |

tonybcool is selling his black-black 85 for "under NADA loan
value". "Wife says the care must go." There is
another way this could be resolved. :-)
Looks like all the right work has been done. I guess the rough weather/sun got the carpets; otherwise replacement is a bit odd for a low mile car. However, the dash was done as well, so it must have sat outside. He thoroughly describes very minor remaining defects. |

Ah, Phil's baby! The opening minimum is very low. Of course, the
reserve could be anywhere. Will it make it to...$18.5K, my estimate?
Why not more? Well, the ad should have large pics or direct links to them to be
more effective. You can see the large ones here
(see volume 6).
Addendum (12/11): Phil added some large photos and links to more of them. Bidding is going very well, I think. |
