COMMENTARY
Not a lievely week and nothing terribly exciting in terms of sales. Two Weissach's are on the list at the same time - quite remarkable, but one was ;pulled early, and the other has yet to close. The 19K mile 84 came back two days ago. A very clean 84 is still languishing as the opening bid is set too high to generate early bidding. Junior's 86, really an 83, got some underserved action at close.

Somehow I missed the return of this car. eBay missed it as well, as it
doesn't show in the Porsche
928 listings. This is the third time
through Here's what I said its first time through eBay.
A Mephisto Motors car. These guys bother me...they had a Glocker Porsche that they did not reveal to be a copy (even though anyone should know). Actually this car does look nice. Says no dash cracks, but a cover obscures that area. |

Back again, but suddenly the car gained 36K miles over the previous listing.
Not bad considering it is a parts car. His spelling is getting even
worse, however. He has pics here
under "Porsche". I recommend you don't look at
them. A few of them are gut wrenching. However, under "Cars For
Sale" he has some shots of a more seriously abused BMW.
My comments from the first trip through eBay. Sometimes there's nothing to add to the seller's description:"Complete Car, Texas Car, with bill of sale. Has run fuel injection/pump wiring needs replaced. interior needs redone, horrable repaint!" |

Back again for the third time. Here are excerpts from my previous comments.
Dealer. Early 86. Calls it an S4 by mistake. Mileage disparity in ad. Anyone for blue? You gotta love stuff like "90,600 carfull (sic) miles." |

OK, so this is trip FIVE through the auction. Overdue for a drop in
the reserve. I think the dealer may be upside down on this car.
Here's what I wrote earlier. Back again for third time. Looks OK. Did well in first auction. Wonder why deal fell through? In the case of a re-listing like this, I advise anyone interested in bidding to contact the winning bidder in the previous listing and ask why the deal fell through. You can find the winning by clicking on the item number to the left for the Jan-15 closing. Here's what I said the first time. Can't see any problems. Looks like it could be all leather interior. RMB installed? **Note about bid 3 on 2/25: This bidder made one of the cardinal errors in eBay bidding; that is, setting up a proxy bid way too early in the bidding, not knowing that a proxy bid above the reserve immediately sends to bid to the reserve level. No bidg deal if you really want the car at that level, but it is a shock to see the bid jump several thousand instead of the minimum $100. Regardless, blowing up to the reserve this early in the bidding just raises the price, although in this case he may scare away others and have bought himself a car. |

Back again. No surprise here as the winning bidder had a negative
feedback rating. Here's what I said the first time.
This looks authentic or a good restoration. Seats and carpets look new, engine compartment is spotless and uncorroded. There's plenty of Armor-All on things, but looks good anyway. |

This guy has a Florida connection. He's got the 91 S4 4-timer below, from Florida as well. This car looks very nice and clean. The white and blood red interior grows on you, but what is with the pod? - the only black piece in the car. Somebody explain this interior. Other than spending its first 7 years in NY and failing a few emission tests, Carfax is clean. | $8,200 | $9,100 | $10,500 (reserve met) |

#561632107 1984 928 S Auto with 79K miles |
$9,500 minimum, NO RESERVE Opened Feb-17 Closes Feb-27 |
Now, compare this 79K mile car to Junior's 75K mile dirt tracker immediately below. One picture says it all.- CLEAN! No salt exposure in Cleveland means it was hardly ever driven. I know - I lived there for 13 years. Carfax (clean record) shows 1K miles in a 18 month span and only 8K miles since late 97. I wish the guy would post more pics and say more specifically about condition and maintenance, but this one is a knock out. Also, despite no reserve, the high starting price will stifle bid interest. I would have used a lower minimum and a $9.5K reserve, but I think it will go anyway, especially if the seller adds interior pics and comments about service records and condition. | $0 | $0 | $0 | $0 | $0 | $0 | $0 |

#561606285 1986 928 S Manual with 75K miles NOTE: This is really a 1983 S. SOLD $5,655 |
$1,000 minimum, NO RESERVE Opened Feb-17 Closes Feb-24 |
An 86 5-speed no reserve should wake a few people up. Looks too
tattered for 75K miles - driven hard and put away wet is my guess.
Paint flaking due to front bumper contact, hood edge dinged, seat tears
mentioned. No interior or engine shots. Probably lots to see
there. Check out Junior at the helm in one shot. Looks like he
probably shifts without using the clutch. Careful questioning essential
in this case.
Update: An observant 928 fan pointed out the VIN cannot be 86. It is fuzzy, but it checks out to be: WP0JB0928DS860306 The "D" in the middle specifies an 1983. 86 is "G". I sent Junior a note. Also, the antenna is a giveaway as 86 had it embedded in the windshield. |

$3,700 minimum, Opened Feb-12 Closes Feb-22 |
Another diamond in the rough? I suppose we should be glad they spent $4.5K on the motor. All it needs is "cosmetics." Also, note on repair bill indicates headlight motor is needed. Be prepared for the worst. If the cosmetics were simple they would have done it since it is cosmetics which sells a car and these guys know it. The paint looks bad, as well as the interior. Also, they claim this is a 300HP Euro but don't note it as an S. Need VIN to verify. Note missing sidearms on S rear spoiler and large paint chips all over. | $3,850 | $3,850 | $3,950 | $4,000 (CLOSED) |
